Position Overview:
Nationwide IT Services (NIS) seeks a Senior Network Administrator to manage network infrastructure operations, maintenance, and administration across multiple enclaves, data centers, regional field offices, and AWS GovCloud environments. This role supports DCSA IT modernization and One IT initiatives to enhance flexibility and scalability in enterprise IT.

Position Overview:
Nationwide IT Services (NIS) seeks a Senior Network Administrator to manage network infrastructure operations, maintenance, and administration across multiple enclaves, data centers, regional field offices, and AWS GovCloud environments. This role supports DCSA IT modernization and One IT initiatives to enhance flexibility and scalability in enterprise IT.
Work Schedule:
- Hybrid Schedule: Must be willing to report on-site 5 days a week if required.
- Work Hours: 0800-1730.
- TS/SCI eligibility is required.
- IAT-II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, or Security+ CE).
- Applicable Network Environment (NE) Certification is required (CCNA).
- Network Operations & Administration
- Ensure 99.9% uptime across all managed networks.
- Implement and maintain secure, scalable, and optimized infrastructure.
- Support cloud migrations and transitions from AT&T MPLS to DISA MPLS.
- Security & Compliance
- Perform weekly/monthly patching & security updates, ensuring 100% compliance.
- Harden network systems per DoD DISA STIG guidance.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and trend analysis to mitigate risks.
- Infrastructure & Asset Management
- Maintain bench stock of equipment to sustain optimized network operations.
- Ensure lifecycle maintenance & compliance with end-of-life timelines.
- Support accreditation & documentation for network deployment.
- Operational Efficiency & Troubleshooting
- Provide F5 BigIP balancing & traffic load balancing support.
- Perform site surveys & field office upgrades.
- Identify and resolve network issues using monitoring & bandwidth management tools.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain network diagrams, architecture documents, SOPs, and access control lists (ACLs).
- Support change control via the Change Review Board.
- Facilitate backup & recovery operations.
- Research and implement emerging network technologies & best practices.
- Support IT/Communications Security (COMSEC).
- Ensure secure cable management in data centers, LAN rooms, and telecom closets.
- Provide support for AWS GovCloud and other cloud infrastructure.
- BA/BS in IT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- An additional 4 years of experience may be considered instead of a degree.
- 9+ years of relevant experience in network administration.
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently & collaboratively.
- Strong ability to follow DoD & agency processes to minimize risks.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.
- Results-oriented with a commitment to achieving operational efficiency.
- Ability to work across diverse teams to achieve common objectives.
